If you are looking at the Forza, Pulse Cipher, or Heart Breaker editions, let's be real: you are buying a shell. These controllers are fundamentally the standard Xbox layout wrapped in plastic that glows or shows off its guts. They are perfectly fine, reliable controllers, but they are playing on the same internal tech we have seen for years.

If you have ever felt your aim drifting slowly to the left while you are trying to stand still, you know why that matters. Unless you have a bulk pack of batteries and a dream, the power management in the standard-style models remains their biggest drawback.
If you want a controller that will actually last without stick drift, buy the PowerA. It offers the performance you would expect at this price. For everyone else, just buy the Carbon Black model; it does everything the special editions do for significantly less money.
Skip the fancy special editions unless you are a collector. You are paying a premium for a color palette that doesn't make you a better player.
